This past weekend, October 14th to 16th, was Parents Weekend at PSU. My parents, my brother Collin, and my very good friend Grace came to visit me at school! I had not seen them in 2 months and it was really refreshing to see them!
We had a great weekend. Friday night, Grace and I saw the student drag show. The next day, I spent it with my entire family. We toured the school, visited the arboretum, and just enjoyed each other's company.
I really loved having them here. It was very tough to say goodbye; however I get to be with them for 10 days in November. I can't wait for Thanksgiving!

Are You Ready for Penn State Football?
One of my activities to do at PSU is go to the football games. Being apart of the #1 Student Section in the nation is honestly amazing. Everyone is so spirited, energetic, and joyful. Last Saturday was the Penn State vs. Maryland football game. It has been my favorite game I have been to so far. Although I did not get a picture of it, I was thrown in the air when we got our first touch down! As I was thrown in the air, I was scared that the boys were going to drop me yet my adrenaline was pumping!
Here are some photos from the game!

Photography Club!
During my time here at PSU, I have joined many clubs one being Photography Club. I really enjoy this club because its members are very calm, photography gives me a creative outlet, and I can share my photos with others.
Here are some photos that I have taken:

One on One with Jacqueline Rofe
This is a small little interview with my best friend here at PSU, Jacqueline Rofe. She's a wonderful, calm, and happy person. 10/10 recommend becoming her friend.

Homesick
Although being at PSU is very liberating, it would be nice to have someone familiar to bring me down to earth. Being so far away from home has its pros and it's cons. One of the biggest obstacles I've come to face is being so far away from my friends and family.
Being able to touch, hug, and talk to someone is so important in a relationship. Having a physical connection with someone not only brings the two individuals closer to each other but also allows for communication without words. Even though the power of internet, telephone, and video allows us to communicate via computer screen, it does not establish a physical connection.
For the past week, I have been wanting nothing more than to hug my mom. Not only to feel her presence but also to feel her love, comfort, and kindness. I call my family about two to three times a week; however, a 15 minute conversation over the telephone does not compare to a 3 second hug or a kiss on the cheek.
I miss having the comfort of my closes friends next to me. Currently, many of my friends live 4 to 9 hours away from PSU and since most of them are freshman without cars on campus, it is very difficult for them to visit me and vice versa. The friend I miss most is my best friend Grace. We live on the same street and practically do everything together. Being away from her is difficult, but because out friendship is so strong, it does not feel like we live 4 hours away, rather we live just a couple of houses down.
Being here at PSU has been an eye opening experience. I have discovered more about myself in the past three weeks than I have in one year of high school. Even though i miss my friends and family, I'm so happy that I have met other wonderful friends and I cannot wait to grow with them!
Sincerely,
Chelsea

Weekly Rundown
Monday August 28th, 2016
9:05 a.m. Spanish Class
The class was normal, nothing special about it. We learned about direction, such as buildings in relation to other buildings.
10:30 a.m.
Had a nice cup of coffee with my friend Ryan who is in my Spanish class. He loves theater like I do. We had at least a 10 minute conversation on Something Rotten and I could not complain.
11:15 a.m. Math Class
Again, another dry class. I only have to take Algebra and State to fulfill my math requirements. Since I took Calculus last year, this class is a breeze.
12:30 p.m. Library
I went to the Library to get some work done. I sat next to my friend Sam who is in my math class. She is so nice. I'm very glad that I had met her.
2:00 p.m
I went back to my dorm to watch a documentary that was assigned for homework by my English professor. The documentary was called Into Eternity. If you want to know how I felt about the documentary, needless to say, I fell asleep three times.
6:00 p.m
I suddenly became sick so my friends brought me soup which was super nice. We then went out to dinner.
8:00 p.m.
I went to a Harry Potter Fan Club meeting. I don't think I will join the club since it is a time commitment,
9:00 p.m.
I went to a Hershey Kisses for the Kids meeting. I loved this club and I look forward to being part of it in the future.
11:00 p.m.
I finally made it back to my dorm and fell asleep.
